"One week," he murmurs, an agreement and a promise and a warning. He leans over Quentin's body, tugging his shirt up and pressing a kiss to his side as he keeps working at Quentin's hip.

Quentin lifts both elbows up over his head, and drops his knee down off the edge of the couch to pull himself into a long stretch. With his forearms covering his eyes, he doesn't quite hide his wide smile.

"Be careful not to cross the gander,
A bird composed of beak and dander,
His heart is filled with prideful hate
Of all the world except his mate.
And if the neighbors do not err
He's overfond of beating her.
Is she happy? What's the use
Of trying to psychoanalyze a goose?"

He memorized this for him a bit ago, and has been saving it for him, for a suitably silly moment alone.

He laughs softly against Quentin's skin, rueful and warm. He's not at all sure what to say in response - poetry, of all things, and yet it is sweet -

In the end, Jedao presses another kiss to his stomach - nope, nope, that's a giant raspberry.

What's the use, indeed.

Quentin gives into laughter- the real kind, the laugh that actually sounds subtly ridiculous and too high pitched so he tries very hard not too give into it. It's a 'once or twice a year' laugh.

He has his revenge by trying to tangle both legs around him, wrestling to thwart him. It does genuinely tickle.

"Everyone's a critic!"

Jedao wriggles like an eel, twisting to give Quentin raspberries on his thighs, too, delighted to draw out that bright outrageous laugh as long as he can.

He keeps going until breathlessness gets him, and he has to pat him gently with both hands, gesturing uncle, uncle.

"God. I was so tired when I got home I didn't think I'd be able to move a muscle."

Now he feels good, warm, easy, subtly energized.

Jedao slides up Quentin's body - carefully where he puts his weight - and kisses him, slow and sweet and easy.

"You probably should rest. But food first?"

"Are you sure?"

Wonders Quentin, with an expressive flick of his eyes in the direction of their bedroom instead. He touches a toe to the back of his calm, trailing lightly, just a thought.

"I'm trying to be a gentleman, you minx," Jedao chides him, grinning. "Shall I carry you?"

"You're very gentlemanly."

Agrees Quentin, slipping a knee up between his, happy to play the wicked one, if that's the case.

"But yes, please."

He could be scooped up and swept off by a gentlemen, perfectly happily.

Jedao kisses him again, then slither-rolls off the couch to better scoop him up into a careful bridal carry. He nuzzles Quentin's neck before heading into the bedroom.

"As you wish."

He tucks in close against him, so his knees fit through the doorway, and so he can tuck his smile against Jedao's shoulder.

"I sometimes forget how strong you are."

No, he definitely doesn't, but he kind of likes talking about it.

"I love scooping you up. All your long pretty bones in a bundle. I'd need to do a rescue carry for Fives, and I'd still be huffing and puffing. You're dainty and it's very sexy."

As usual, Jedao's flirtation is slightly weird but also weirdly compelling.

"My bones want you."

Quentin doesn't speak this peculiar language of Jedao's fluently, but he does feel like part of him responds in it.

"Like I have a fantasy where I invent a spell so that we can etch your gears into them. Under my skin, where no one will know. And I don't know if I want to tell you where or just do it and tell you to try to find them with your teeth. This is an unusual impulse for me, but it's also something I spend a lot of time thinking about."
