He drags his hands down away from his eye. The red glow is leeching out back into yellow, at least.

"UGH, I DON'T. I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A CORPOREAL FORM THEN. THE GUY WAS STARSTRUCK! HE THOUGHT I WAS DIVINE INSPIRATION. HE MADE ME A GOLD STATUE. HOW DO YOU IGNORE A GOLD STATUE? I SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE ALONG WITH IT, BUT I REALLY NEEDED SOMETHING OUT OF HIM."

"Bill, you shouldn't use the people who love you. Perhaps it is you whose car needed to be keyed all along."

He chides him quietly;

"Why don't I just not talk to him for a couple of months, until you guys get on an even keel?"

i have been forgetting to narrate the ring my bad. it's been dark the whole time.

Bill looks very forlorn.

"YEAH, I'M THE WORST, BUT HEY, YOU KNOW WHAT!"

He holds up the ring again.

"HE ALSO SHOT MY FRIENDS! AND HIS OWN BROTHER! BECAUSE I BRUISED HIS PRIDE, WOW!"

No flash.

"EVERYBODY IN THIS SITUATION IS THE WORST, AND I WAS HERE FIRST! IF YOU DUCK OUT OF THE CONVERSATION NOW IT'LL BE SUSPICIOUS. JUST DON'T EXPLAIN MORE THAN YOU HAVE TO. AND DON'T -" Frustrated flail - "ASK HOW WE KNOW EACH OTHER!"

He says, placatingly, glancing at his communicator, then back up at him.

"What are you going to say to him when you do talk?"

"UH, PROBABLY TELL HIM IT'S MY BOAT! AND TO LEAVE!"

The ring lights up. Bill glares at it and reluctantly confesses something closer to the truth.

"UGH, OKAY. HE THINKS I'M DEAD, SO I THINK I SHOULD GET TO HAUNT HIM LIKE A VENGEFUL GHOST. THAT'S FAIR, RIGHT? I GOT KILLED, I DESERVE HAUNTING!"

Sadly, this one is true enough to pass.

"That seems like not the right thing to do."

Quentin would have to guess.

"Want to let him shoot me then get demoted?"

As though that is literally any better.

[tetractys]

"EH, HE MIGHT ALREADY BE AN INMATE! LIKE I SAID, HE'S KINDA A PIECE OF WORK. WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED!"

Bill, that's not the problem with this plan. That's not even in the top five.

"I'll let you know what he says."

He's jut going to ask outright, basically.

Bill is a hundred percent taking this as permission to try to clamber around to watch Quentin's screen as he posts.

"YOU COULD JUST SHOW ME..."
