"Best couch I've ever slept on." Not that he's slept on many. He pokes the egg until the yolk oozes all over everything else.

[magician_king]

"I'm glad you stayed, it's nice having you a little longer."

Says Quentin, flipping the second egg, staying at the stove a moment longer and smiling as he sees Rawne start.

"And it's good to get a chance to catch up alone about the breach. How are you doing since?"

[major_rawne]

"It was ok." He eats a little. "I wasn't... that different, I guess. A soldier. A criminal. Fives and I were friends."

[magician_king]

"I didn't know any of you."

He complains, mildly; unfair.

"You must have been in a different pod from me and some of the other paper people."

[major_rawne]

"I didn't work at the paper at all. I just hung around. When the aliens showed up, I spent most of the time helping Norton."

[magician_king]

"Good. How is Norton?"

Quentin really doesn't know him well, but likes Rawne's face when he talks about him.

[major_rawne]

Rawne does tend to smile more when he talks about Norton. "He's fine... I think. We haven't really talked about the breach."

[magician_king]

"OH, you should. It's important to process this kind of stuff."

He insists, gently, finally coming over to join him with his plate of eggs.

[major_rawne]

"I know." He pokes at his eggs. "But we're not good at... talking about shit."

Partly because they tend to fall into bed whenever they get the chance.

[magician_king]

"Well, this is a good moment to practice. What happened in the breach wasn't you guys- so try talking about them."

Proposes Quentin, helpfully, on his way to a sip of coffee.

[major_rawne]

"Yeah. And it wasn't bad. Just different."
